The increased complexity of logistics industry sets new operating standards, supported by the processes of industry 4.0

Edited by Marketing Department

The fourth industrial revolution is a vital and fast process that involves all the company sectors. Industry 4.0 can not be separated from a logistics 4.0: innovative and digital methods able to better support the processes, both for the internal handling of goods and for delivery to the customer. We must also consider the way the world of goods mobility is changing, with a continuous increase in international and intercontinental flows. A digital logistics, able to optimize the extension of the supply chain and favor industrial innovation is no longer an option, but a necessity.

The extension of the supply chain is a clear phenomenon: starting from 2009, peak of the economic crisis, and until 2017, the import / export of goods grew by 60% for the countries of the European Union, and also by 110 % for the BRIC countries, with a parallel increase in long-haul traffic.

This continuous extension of the logistics chain has multiplied the players involved: road and rail operators, as well as land and sea transporters, to which are added infrastructure managers, shippers, customs authorities, insurance agencies, brokers and so on, up to the authorities involved in the process. The significant increase of the figures involved, generates an increase in the complexity of the supply chain, whith a growth of data exchange as well as their storage.

It is no coincidence that the first and most important push towards the digitalization of the supply chain must guarantee continuous tracking of shipments, in order to achieve satisfactory goals of efficiency and safety. This is why today industries must necessarily turn to innovative management platforms able of organizing data coming from a variety of different systems.

Increasingly, when it comes to logistics 4.0, we end up referring to blockchain technology, which is perhaps the most suitable solution to ensure efficiency in long-range distribution. In a sector where the many operators involved not only have different degrees of digital maturity, but also different and often irreconcilable platforms, where individual authorities set different standards and constraints, the development of open standards is, on balance, the best among the possible perspectives.

The blockchain technology makes it possible to develop a digital register of transactions and flows, a ledger based on a widespread consensus among the various players involved, so as to trace the products and certify their origin in complete safety.

Apart the extension of the supply chain and blockchain, the logistics sector - such as transport - is called to take an important step towards digitalization, to reduce costs, cut waste and reduce delivery costs.

Discover the functionality of Mago4 designed to modify and correct issued invoices, in accordance with the regulations of several countries.

Edited by Marketing Department

Which is one of the most common operations within a company? The answer is simple: the production of tax documents, of course! It goes without saying that a large amount of documents involves the risk of making mistakes in their creation: it can happen to issue an incorrect bill and having to change it.

In fact, the reasons why it may be necessary to modify a tax document are several and not necessarily related to a compilation error: think at the returns of goods - both total and partial -, positive or negative price variations, any differences between the quantities actually shipped and those invoiced, just to mention some examples.

It is obvious that this can be done in relation to your reference tax system or that of a foreign country. Here, then, the features of the ERP Mago4 dedicated to internationalization come to aid you.

Let us examine the particular case of a correction invoice and see how it works in some localizations of Mago4. We know that in some countries such as Romania, Hungary, Poland, to correct a tax document already issued, it is necessary to use the Correction Invoice, a procedure implemented in Mago4 right to localize some European countries.

The documents most involved by the correction invoice procedure are invoices and tax receipts, although other documents may also be subject to it, such as customer and supplier returns and accompanying invoices. Mago4 is of course able to manage a correction invoice for all these types of tax documents.

Using the proper button on the Mago4 toolbar, you automatically create invoices from the document to be corrected. The document thus generated, reports exactly all the data of the original, except for the signs that are reversed - that is, negative. As an alternative to this automation, the user may also decide to use the correction document directly by uploading the document to be corrected through the researcher.

In Mago4, the compilation process is very simple: either using the toolbar button, and using the researcher, the correction invoice is pre-filled with the data of the original document. You only have to enter the new values replacing the previous ones.

To distinguish between the correction values and the initial ones, Mago4 provides that corrective data are identified with a negative sign and are not editable. In case of returned goods, then, the user can easily indicate the amount to be added in column locally associated.

To avoid erroneously repeating the same correction on the same document, Mago4 provides a warning message that is not blocking, unless a total return is made on the quantities.

In addition, Mago4 always proposes the values for the last document recorded using the progressive numbering of tax documents: so it is easy to avoid the risk of making an amount larger than the original one. However, you can always decide to correct several times the same document, in which case the program will use the latest corrected data as the starting values for any further corrections.

Mago4 release 1.4

With 33 improvements distributed in all business areas, Mago4 presents its latest release 1.4. Find out all the latest news.

Edited by Marketing Department

We have already mentioned in this blog the main feature of the 1.4 release of your ERP Mago4 (here the dedicated post), which is the management of Quarterly VAT Statement. The communication is via the Zucchetti Digital HUB service, which includes and integrates the sending of Electronic Invoice; Digital Communication can in fact be managed with on-site FATEL / CADI server services or on line Digital Hub "FATELW / CADIW": according to the activation key you can only use FATEL, CADI or both.

As for Agents, for example, Mago4 1.4 adds a new type of commission maturity in order to update it at the time the invoice is fully collected. Regarding CONAI, the new release of Mago4 apply an update that incorporates the contribution diversification for plastic packaging, established to promote the use of more recyclable packaging, connecting the contributory level to environmental impact.

With Mago4 1.4, Combined Nomenclature is introduced in Active / Passive Cycle documents, especially for non-EU customers / suppliers, even when the Intrastat lists have not to be generated. To be always aligned to the market requests, in Mago4 1.4 the Combined Nomenclature field is now editable on both sales and purchases documents. Also, it is automatically proposed for all customers and suppliers on the basis of the Item Master Data. Moreover, starting from Mago4 1.4 it is possible to obtain the print in language of the document also for the Supplier Quotation, in addition to all other documents where this option was already considered.

Another major change concerns the WMS Mobile. In the last times, the WMS Mobile application has been integrated with many functionalities that have increased application loads, resulting in performance declines ... so with Mago4 1.4 the new WMS Mobile is born! We have a new version of Mago4’s application for the handhelds that maintains all previous functionalities and adds other ones. WMS-Mobile is now faster, more reactive and solid, guaranteeing a more flexible communication based on the web technology.

Now let's take a look at the Romanian scenario. In order to satisfy the needs of the market, in the Warehouse of Mago4 1.4, the Accounting Type has been added on the FIFO/LIFO Loads. This option can be used during the generation of the inventory accounting and it represents a further items categorization. This implementation is due to the request to define a different Accounting Type for the same item, for example diversifying the accounting account for produced and purchased items.

Also for Romania, Mago4 1.4 provides generation of XML file for VAT Declaration 300, a periodic notification of VAT settlement that must be sent to the Romanian revenue agency via XML file. Mago4 processes the data extracted in the reports, generates the xml file and prints the statement on an official template; The file can then be sent directly to the revenue agency.

Those listed are just some of the improvements made by Mago4's 1.4 release. You can discover them all by referring to the release notes in the Private Area of Microarea website, Section My Mago4.

As always, we recommend that you download the release 1.4 by requesting the intervention of your reference reseller.
